What is Tallow?
Tallow is a nutrient-rich, rendered form of beef fat, specifically sourced from 100% grass-fed cattle. Unlike regular fats, tallow is packed with a wide range of vitamins and fatty acids that are incredibly beneficial for your skin. My whip doesn't feel whipped, what should I do?
Tallow is a primarily saturated fat and therefore changes its consistency with temperature.
In transit, your tallow whip may have changed consistency a bit depending on the weather. If cold and firm, it should resume to a whipped silky consistency once settled at room temperature. However, Tallow starts to melt at 85 degrees. Melting does not change the effectiveness of the product.
We are in Arizona, so the weather can be very hot! Once our tallow leaves our sights, we can not guarantee the texture of whip you will recieve. However, we do our best at getting it shipped to you in the condition we package it. But the good news is, no matter the consistency, the effectiveness of the our tallow will remain the same.
When the weather is cold if may become stiff. Leave it at room temperature and it will soften up. If it is too hot then you can place in the refrigerator to stiffen. But again, either consistency, our tallow will still have all the skin benefits.
Can tallow expire?
Yes, tallow does have an expiration date, though it is known for its long shelf life due to its natural stability.
Shelf Life: Properly rendered and stored tallow can last for several months at room temperature and even longer when refrigerated. Typically, tallow can be stored for 6 to 12 months without spoiling.
Storage Recommendations: To extend the life of your tallow, store it in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. If you prefer, you can refrigerate it to maintain its quality for an extended period.
